Official Opening of Impey HQ proves Big Success!
On September 12th we held a grand event to open the new buildings at our site in Ilton,
Somerset. The buildings were officially opened by local MP David Heath, who gave a speech
congratulating Impey on our success. Bruce Grave, Managing Director, also gave a speech
on how far the Company has come since he and wife Jackie set up the business - then known
as Creative Care - in 1994.
Building of the new site took a year to complete but was an absolute necessity as Impey
now employs over 80 members of staff. The original building on the Ilton site, renamed Impey Projects,
has been converted into a showroom and is also used for research and development of new products.
Newly built Conquest House is home to the Sales Team, the Directors and the Warehouse and Victoria House
is the base for the Marketing Team and Impey’s new wetroom training facility, the only dedicated training facility
of its kind in the country. Guests were taken on guided tours by Impey employees and were entertained
by a pianist, caricaturist and close up magician. They were also treated to drinks, a hog roast and a buffet.
Bruce said, “This event marks the culmination of years of growth thanks to our innovative products
that we design on site, and the commitment of our employees. I am pleased to be able to hold this event
in recognition of all their hard work and to thank our customers and suppliers for their ongoing support.”
The Open Day was also a chance for Impey to give something back to our local community. Two members
of the Sales Team, Damien Mckeaveney and Tim Martins, and Omar Beggs from Whale Pumps, decided
to cycle from Damien’s home in Basingstoke to Impey HQ – a trip of over 100 miles! Bruce said,
“I am very proud of Damien, Tim and Omar for raising well in excess of £2000 for the local
Alzheimer’s Society branch; as a company we strive to support the local community in any way
we can and their effort in cycling 100 miles was nothing short of fantastic.”
